The Wrapture
50 unique works
The Wrapture combines generative imagery with a test of cooperation. Released on 15 December 2021, it offered holders of The Eternal Pump an edition of fifty works, with a condition attached to its size.
For one year, collectors were asked not to sell, trade, or list their works. If anyone broke the agreement, the remaining works in a potential edition of 666 would become available to mint. If everyone cooperated, the edition would remain at fifty and the restrictions would end. Art Blocks now records the collection as a fixed edition of fifty unique works.

A year of cooperation
An agreement that survived a multibillion dollar fund’s collapse
In 2022, the collapse of the multibillion-dollar crypto hedge fund Three Arrows Capital put that agreement to an unexpected test. Its Starry Night Capital collection held four Wraptures. With the fund in liquidation, even a transfer to secure those assets could have broken the rules and opened the remaining 616 works to minting.
When liquidators moved hundreds of Starry Night’s NFTs to a new wallet in October, they deliberately left the four Wraptures untouched. They waited until the yearlong restriction had expired before moving them, respecting the artwork’s conditions through the liquidation process.
On 17 December 2022, the experiment concluded: none of the 37 holders had moved, listed, or sold a work during the year. The edition remained at fifty. The liquidators’ participation extended the act of cooperation beyond the original collectors, making an institutional decision part of the work’s history.
