Ironic Dessert

TASCHEN Art Edition

Ironic Dessert emerges from an algorithm developed over several years to divide and reconstruct three-dimensional space. Stripes and stacked blocks create an unstable sense of scale: a pattern can read as architecture, a surface, or a chain of small objects.

Its title returns the geometric construction to family history and a personal memory: the rainbow cookies made by Cherniak’s grandmother.
